Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about boiler installations and heating in Felixstowe

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What areas do you cover?

We are based in Felixstowe and cover Ipswich, Woodbridge, Kesgrave, Martlesham, Trimley, Aldeburgh and the wider Suffolk area. If you are not sure whether you are in our patch, call Joby on 07393 998344 and we will let you know straight away.

Are you Gas Safe registered?

Yes. Howe Heating is Gas Safe registered, so all gas work is carried out legally and to the required safety standards. You are welcome to ask to see the Gas Safe ID card at any time.

Who will carry out the work?

Joby, the owner, attends every job himself. The person who comes to quote your work is the person who carries it out, so you always deal with the same engineer from start to finish rather than being passed to a subcontractor.

What are your opening hours?

Our standard hours are Monday to Sunday, 08:00 to 18:00. We also offer 24 hour emergency callouts, so if you have a genuine heating emergency outside those hours, call us and we will help where we can.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes. We provide free, no-obligation quotes for boiler installations and heating work. Call 07393 998344 or send us your details through the website and we will get back to you with a clear price and no hidden extras.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer, card payments and cash. Payment is normally taken on completion of the work, and for larger installations we are happy to talk through staged payments to help you plan.

How long does a boiler change take?

It depends on the system being installed. A straightforward boiler swap can often be done in a day, while a full system change or upgrade can take up to a week. We will always give you a clear timeline as part of your quote so you can plan around the work.

How much does a new boiler cost?

New boiler installations with Howe Heating typically range from £2,500 to £4,000 supplied and fitted. The exact price depends on the boiler you choose, the size and layout of your heating system, and any extra work needed. We give you a clear, fixed quote after surveying your home.

Do you remove the old boiler?

Yes. Removing and disposing of your old boiler is included as part of the installation. We disconnect the old unit, take it away, and dispose of it responsibly, so you do not need to arrange anything separately.

What boiler brands do you install?

We install all the major boiler brands, including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal and Glowworm. We will talk you through the best option for your home, your budget, and the warranty you want before you commit.

Is the new boiler covered by a warranty?

Yes. New boilers come with a manufacturer-backed warranty, typically covering parts and labour for several years depending on the brand and model. We explain the warranty terms before we start and register it on your behalf once the boiler is installed.

Why is your pipework so neat?

Because a tidy, well planned installation is a sign of a job done properly. Clean copper pipework, a magnetic system filter fitted as standard, and a properly commissioned boiler all help your heating run reliably for years. You can see the standard we work to in our project gallery.
